The Sequence
A claimed two-day window is logged, but not yet sourced. This investigation's policy database records that on June 25, 2025, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sold more than $50 million in Treasury bonds — two days before a rate policy change his department controlled — and flags it CATASTROPHIC severity under the STOCK ACT category. No primary source (SEC filing, OGE personal financial disclosure, or press report) has been located to back that entry as of July 1, 2026; Treasury bonds are not SEC Form 4-reportable and Bessent is not a corporate insider, so EDGAR cannot confirm it either way. Administration officials are subject to the same disclosure requirements as members of Congress, which is why the claim would matter if sourced — but until it is, treat it as an open, unverified entry.
On June 27, 2025 — the day of that policy change — two of America's largest tech company insiders sold a combined $698 million in stock, both filings verified against SEC EDGAR.
Jeff Bezos, founder and executive chairman of Amazon, sold 3,100,000 shares of AMZN across two tranches on June 27, 2025. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, sold 75,000 shares of NVDA across four tranches on the same date. Both men are major political donors. Both sales are in the donation-trade correlation database with scores reflecting the proximity of their giving to this transaction.
The Filings
Both June 27 transactions are traceable to specific SEC filings.
The Correlation Count
This investigation correlates SEC Form 4 insider trades against FEC political donation records using a ±30-day matching window. A "correlation" is one donation-trade pair: one donor who is also an insider, with a donation and a trade within 30 days of each other.
On June 27, 2025, the database shows 288 correlation pairs — the highest single-day count. The Bezos June 27 trades alone match against 96 separate donation records: 96 times that Bezos (or an entity connected to him) donated within 30 days of his $686M sale. That repetition is the architecture of the score.
The 288 figure does not represent 288 different people selling stock on June 27. It represents 288 instances where a donation record matches a June 27 trade within the ±30-day window. Scale and density, concentrated on one date, are what make it anomalous.
What Was Removed From This Dataset
Earlier versions of this dataset included four additional June 27, 2025 entries. All four were removed after EDGAR verification failed to support them.
The dataset now contains only EDGAR-verified entries for June 27, 2025: Bezos ($686.4M) and Huang ($11.78M). An earlier entry for Elon Musk (TSLA, $24.28M) was removed in a prior verification round — no Tesla Form 4 was filed by Musk between January and August 2025.
What the Record Does Not Establish
The Bezos/Huang June 27 stock sales are independently established from the public record via EDGAR Form 4 filings. The Bessent June 25 bond sale is not — it is currently an unsourced claim (see "Unsourced" section above) and should not be treated as established fact. This dispatch does not establish that Bezos or Huang had advance knowledge of any rate policy change. The coincidence in timing between the Bezos/Huang sales and the (unsourced) Bessent claim is not evidence of a connection.
Neither Bezos nor Huang has been charged with any insider trading offense related to June 27, 2025. Both maintain active selling programs under SEC Rule 10b5-1, which permits pre-scheduled sales on designated dates regardless of material non-public information. Whether June 27 was a pre-scheduled date in their 10b5-1 plans is not established by this record.
The 288 correlation count does not imply 288 people committed any offense. It is a structural measurement of proximity between political giving and trading activity — one metric in a larger pattern. The "$33.51B" figure cited in earlier pipeline outputs is an artifact of the correlation methodology (trade value × number of matching donation records), not a count of distinct dollars traded on June 27. Actual verified June 27 trades total $698 million.
Behind the curtain, no wizard to find. Just a thunder organ, a wallet, and scaffolding left behind.
The noise is the point. The scaffolding is the story.
